How is product category determined?

What is the company registration process?
Register the business (not the product) on the AICIS platform, pay the annual fee, with the registration year from September 1 to August 31.
How are ingredients checked and classified?
Check if all cosmetic ingredients are listed on the Australian Industrial Chemicals Inventory. Unlisted ingredients are classified based on health and environmental risks as exempt, reported, or assessed.
What are the reporting requirements for different ingredient classes?
Exempt: Submit a one-time post-introduction statement (only for certain ingredients)
Reported: Submit a one-time pre-introduction report
Assessed: Apply for and obtain an assessment certificate before introduction
